zephyr squash growth habit

conchitaFL(10 Hutchinson Island)August 19, 2014

I've been thinking I'd like to try zephyr squash this fall, but I'm pretty limited on space and I'm not sure how it grows. I know that despite the fact that it's a summer squash it has a lot of butternut in its ancestry, so is it more of a bush type or a vining plant?

Thanks, farmerdill. Yes, I should have said acorn and delicata rather than butternut. But I'm glad to know it's a regular bush.

It gets bigger than any other bush summer squash, but it is a favorite of mine.
