A plea from your plants

flora_uk(SW UK 8/9)May 23, 2012

The Plea of the Pampered Pot Plants.

Dear owner, listen to us

As you try to do your best

It's sometimes better parenting

To give your 'kids' a rest

From constant interference

Done with very best intentions

From potions and from plant food

And other interventions

So listen to us pot plants

Quit squirting us with Dawn

We're like your kids - not perfect

No rose without a thorn

Don't stress at every pimple,

Blotch or weird leaf

Our wants are very simple

Too much loving can bring grief

Just give us mix that's gritty

Some water and some light

And in country or in city

We'll prove a joyful sight.

This may be prosaic, Flora, but thanks for that wonderful verse, and I heartily agree with its sentiments.

I am going to write this out- tape it where my plants are and attempt follow its advice--

thanks, this is one for the plants! :D

That's cute! Reading this and thinking, oh I've done that, sure makes you feel like you have a mothering plant instinct (even if you aren't female!).

Thank you plant people. I knocked it out over my breakfast muesli and I keep thinking of improvements. Too late now, though.

Hi Lamorna - yes there was a slightly sneaky message there - hope I sugared the pill sufficiently ;-)

I am sure I am not the ONLY one "mothering" too much here, but I got the message-- lol-- thanks :)
