Winter Gardening in Oklahoma

acappella_jgAugust 29, 2008

Hello!

I am somewhat new to gardening and do not know a lot, but am very eager to expand my knowledge in the area. I was wondering if you guys can give me some tips on what Vegies grow best in Oklahoma for a Winter garden. Also, when is the best time to begin planting? I am in western Oklahoma so it is a little drier than the eastern part of the state. Any help you can give me will be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Hey Acappella jg!

We have a member who primarily posts on the Oklahoma gardening forum. She writes tons on specifics for Oklahoma. I'm sure, if you browse there, you'll find much information. Also, if you ask there, Dawn will soon answer. Here's a link to something she posted about fall planting dates.
