Its lower branches have been slowly turning brown. Does it need fertilizer or something?

I can see that it has grown quite big, it might be time for a look at the roots: Does it need a bigger pot and some new soil? I guess that would help as a first thing to do.

Clean it up, cut out all the dead stuff and take another pic. Usually there are lots planted in a clump and some die off. It looks really happy otherwise!
