My final year in Indiana

nonacook(8bFL)November 21, 2012

This year I left for the Parke Co. Covered Bridge

Festival on September 15. I baked and sold the usual

things, eclairs, cream puffs, muffins, brownies, and

cookies for the 10 october days. When the festival was over,

I was approached for the second year in a row, by a

person wanting to buy my cabin. I decided to sell--

So with mixed feelings, since I have only missed one

October (year Bill died) in 26 years, I packed to come

home. I have money in my pocket, and LOTS of memories.

And lots of good friends that I may never see again. Age (75) and distance

(723 miles) will probably prevent me going back.....

It was a good place to be, first to sell the wooden and

garden things we made and later the food products----

I expect an anxiety attack next October!

Big changes can be really hard Nona and I know it was definitely hard for you to sell your cabin since it holds so many great memories for you, but I'm sure that you will make new memories in the future and think of the happiness you gave the person who bought your cabin!

Nona ... Had to be hard to make that decision ... I am happy that you were able to do it & take with you so many, many good memories of your Bill & also your friends. Enjoy your decision'll probably have more free time but I bet many new things will cross your path on this new journey. Jeanne S.

What a huge change.
Good for you for letting go. Sounds like the time is right. I bet you'll have something else in the works by next October!

Thanks, Y'all!
LOL, Kathy, I am already thinking about baking
for the Pensacola Interstate Fair next Sept or Oct.
I don't know the dates for sure......I've always
been gone.
Since I sold my equiptment there, I am also planning
to buy another commercial convection oven for here.
Just gotta make room for it somewhere. Pack rat, you
know.I can bake 135 two and a half inch cookies in 10
minutes, on full size sheet pans. can you imagine how
long that would take in a regular kitchen stove? One
of the local churches feeds the homeless, and I could
bake for cookies for them......
Just can't stop doing SOMETHING.....Grin
