hi
Here is a pic of the other half that stayed in the pot. Remarkably different?? lol It has gotten over 15 feet in the shadehouse but has never flowered
Due to the size I'm thinking princeps comparing to pix on the web but it varies a lot as you can see.
The plant on the left is an upright Heliconia hybrid called "sexy pink" lol To the right isthe tip of an australian tree fern
Thanks gary

Some Calatheas do get huge, like C. lutea.

Hi
Any guesses as to why the leaves are so different?? the one in the ground (first pic) is coming up from the ground with yet another leaf pattern most of the last 15 years it has mostly looked like pic #2 If I didn't know better I'd think it two different plants lol I'm leaning toward C. wilsonii from pix on the net.
all my calatheas florish this time of year heat humidity and daily rain but none of the others have changed leaf patterns lol Thanks gary

Hi
The one in the pot is also developing leaves like pic one.
Also a third pattern will try to post a pic when it opens .
Strange that you can own a plant for so long yet not know anything about it lol?? gary

may be it got rejuvved after division - so it's pushing out new suckers? i think it's very nice - it's a great pattern!
may be they'll change when they mature?
