Any Recipes for Kale Chips ?

aftermidnight Zone7b B.C. CanadaOctober 13, 2012

I just made some Kale Chips from a recipe off the net, 1 Tbsp. Balsamic Vinegar, 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil, called for 1 Tsp. Kosher Salt, all I had was fine grind Sea Salt, too salty for me but they tasted really good. How do you make yours, add anything else to the mix?.

Check the "Harvest Forum" on the GW board. There's some hardcore preservationist over there.

I love to make kale chips at work in the microwave. Well, I like to make them at home in the microwave, too, but there I have the option of using the oven, the toaster oven, or the microwave.

Tear the main rib out of the kale leaves and tear the kale into nice chip-sized pieces. Spread in one layer on a smooth, microwave-safe plate (mine is Corelle), and spray lightly with olive oil. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt or with a spicy seasoning salt (I use one called Slap Ya Mama). Microwave on high for 2 min. If the leaves are not crispy, microwave for 20 sec more, continuing as needed until crispy.

While others around me are eating their imitation-butter-flavored microwave popcorn, I am munching away on my real-kale-flavored green chips and feeling good.
