Is this Syngonium? the leafs are plain green

lotuskira(South-Germany 7-8)September 1, 2010

This plant lives with me since more than 15 years, got it from cuttings at a friends place.

He called it his "survival-plant" because he had it in his hallway just in a vase with water and only indirect light.

Well - it does grow either in water/vase and also potted in soil (photo).

I took many cuttings from it over the years...

The leafs are green - without any other colors.

The pics show the color quite exactly.

It does well on a shady and also on a fully sunny (morning till noon) windowshelf.

I wonder if someone can tell me about this plant - if it is a Syngonium? what sort???

Its definately NOT a Syngonim podophyllum!

I remember, that I saw it in Cuba and in Vietnam in shady patio/gardens.

The collective vein on the perimeter of the blade indicates it is a Syngonium. Color has little to do with a genus or species since it is variable from plant to plant. Once this plant mature the shape of the blade will totally change.

This link explains why.
