Looks like an Olympia to me.

if it's olympia (and it does look it) - it's not a true aralia. it's a 'false aralia'

Ok got a close up of the leaves. I bought the plant just as an experiment. I had a spot in my room, not the greatest amount of light, I wanted to put a prayer plant but we didn't have any nice ones I liked at work so I got this one instead.

Did it come from Exotic Angel/Herman Engelman? The pic they show for that plant is a lot lighter green than the ones I got (with this label of theirs) earlier this year. The link above goes to all EA Aralias, here's direcly to Olympia, Dizygotheca Elegantissima.
