How long can I leave soap on plants?

laur34October 15, 2012

Hi. I'm wondering how long I can leave soap on houseplants?

For instance, I recently sprayed a lemon tree that had some scale bugs on it with diluted simple green. I figured it would kill more of them if I left it on for a while.

Thanks,

Laurie

Hi Laurie, I only use ivory on plants. I found this on the simple green site, says its safe. Heres what else it said.

Grass or Plants Is Simple Green safe for vegetation?
Diluted Simple Green will not harm grass or flowers, but its always a good idea to rinse foliage after it has had contact with Simple Green and to water-in Simple Green into the soil. The wetting agents in Simple Green will help retain moisture in soil.

I spray with soap-treatments after the sun has passed, and I rinse in the morning
before the sun hits the plants again.
