Help me identify these three plants

ahyomOctober 11, 2012

I was in Ikea, and couldn't help myself from checking out the season leftovers. Most of their plants were a mess, but these three seemed healthy and strong.

This one winded up being covered in spider mites unfortunately. Any ideas as to what it is, and also any tips of getting rid of the mites. I'm not letting it touch any other plant, and will be misting with soapy water daily. I was wondering if I could also try submerging the entire plant part (not the soil) in lukewarm soapy water?

I know this is a common cactus, but no clue as to what it's called?

Ahyom. No problem soaking your Pilea 'Aluminum Plant' in soapy water.

Keep isolated from other plants..if, by chance, you set Pilea near neighboring plants before noticing mites, inspect daily, and no harm spraying them, too..Never hurts being cautious.

BTW, nice-looking plants..Love your Pilea..they're rare these days. Toni

Greenlarry - the Pilea cadierei is really easy from cuttings if you find someone who has one. Or there are some on ebay for 1.99.

Here is a link that might be useful: Pilea cadierei

Ill look for one in Wilkos. They often have small plants in tiny pots for sale.

I like it too, looks similar to Coleus/Plectranthus.

I always learned this pretty pilea as Aluminum Plant. I googled that name and see that that is still the most accepted common name.
