This is a small satelite dish that I mosaiced and put on a stand for a birdbath
Love the colors!! Beautiful work too. Cheryl
You did a great job! Love the sunflower design.
Looks gorgeous! Bigger pic would help next time, please. Thx! Jeanne S.
Great idea! I too would like a bigger pic.
I'm so excited to see your little dish. It's beautiful! I've had an oval one for 2 years now that I wanted to do the same thing with but didn't know how to go about it. Do you have to prep the dish in any way first? How did you attach the mosaic? What did you use for grout? Hope you don't mind all the questions.
Ah, a lovely pond for birds! Great design, sunflowers are always warm & inviting in a garden. Jan
Thanks everyone! I couldn't get the pic to get bigger so I will take a new pic later today. I hosed it clean and let it dry, used GE11 to glue it on and Mapei grout. This was my second mosaic project and I used plate shards and half marbles. It is 3 years old and I haven't had any problems with it--I bring it in in the winter.
What a beautiful birdbath! I hope you can make the photos larger, my old eyes need to see more. LOL.
But I love what I see of it.
I took another pic and it is in the slideshow--I hope it shows better.
Where is slideshow? It came out really really great!
It turned out very nice! I like the use of the glass globs for the center of the sunflower ... makes it look like the real seeds. Great way to repurpose those unsightly satellite dishes!
This is a little closer.
I just passed one on the side of the road coming home today! I couldn't stop due to traffic, hoped it would be there tomorrow.
Yours is gorgeous! Now, I'm tempted to go back out TONIGHT! Best of all, I'm SO GLAD to hear that GEII worked. Actually, I was coming home from one of our rentals... where I was GROUTING the bathroom tile floor!
OO EE OO... certainly sounds like dejavue to me!!! Kinda SCARY even.
such a fabulous idea, what did you use for the base? can you post finished photo?
