What should I do now?

wayneoutJanuary 4, 2013

Hello, It is winter here with temps in a 20 to 40 degrees range. I just had to connect to the city sewer. The people who connected me have just finished. Part of the contract was that they would fill in the hole but no landscaping. They did a good job but there is now some dirt left in the
yard. In my back yard, I have never had good luck growing grass. Also, at my age (65), it is not that easy to get out
in this weather and do a lot. I was wondering what would be the best way to proceed. Thanks, Bill

ALL THE DIRT THAT CAME OUT OF THE HOLE MUST GO BACK INTO THE HOLE. Yes, I was shouting. What that means is the sewer line will be mounded up over the top of the ditch they cut in. If you do not mound the soil up, the fluffy soil in the ditch will eventually settle and leave you with another ditch running along the sewer line.
