cilvia fungus?

marricgardensNovember 14, 2013

I was washing my clivia leaves yesterday and noticed a brown substance at the base of the leaves. The plants look healthy otherwise. I tried wiping it off with a cloth and some of it came off. I took some pictures so hopefully someone can tell me what it is. This is a plant that has 3 large seedpods on it which will be ready soon. Marg

Hi Marg,

I don't think the brown is fungus, but not 100% sure either.

My Clivia does the same..especially when it's outside during cold/rainy seasons.

Do you see fuzz? Toni

Mine are house pets. No fuzz that I can see. I wondered whether or not it was a fungus because some of it did rub off. Never had it on any of my other ones. Marg
