So these are perilously stacked, but gives an idea of what i hope it will look like. Think i need some more red at the top. Can anyone tell me what to use to glue this together?

VERY cool looking! Love the combination of the brass, red, and black. Try taking a look at this website for the right glue to use.

Most everyone uses GE Silicone II for doors n windows.
The Clear. You can get small tubes or the larger one you put in a calk gun. Its great stuff!

Ditto on what the others said by the way!

Yes ge silicone ii for windows and doors clear.
I notice that you are in zone 4. If you plan on leaving your totem out all winter you had better turn the black platees over so they don't collect water and freeze and break. I leave mine out.

I agree--GEII (clear) for windows and doors.
Be sure to check the expiration date.
I also agree about turning the plates, etc upside down....
Even in NW Florida I need to protect mine from freezing.

I dont think I will leave it over winter. The bottom tray is plastic though. Really I'm more concerned with the brass rusting. Any advise to protect it?
