What can I do about these holes in my grass?

laevyboyApril 25, 2014

New sod from last year that I left grass clippings on for too long before raking up. I'm stupid.
What can I do to fill them?

Rake the dead stuff out of them and they should fill in as the surrounding plants expand.

If you have a lot of it then your first mow do it a little bit shorter than normal and bag it.

After that first mow to get some of it up just mow high and mulch mow. As the good grass comes up any leftover stuff will slowly fade away.

Thanks. You don't think I need to fill the areas in with top soil or with seed?
