wondering what year my sears craftsmen riding lawn tractor is?

I have a older craftsmen riding lawn mower that I'm restoring. it has round head lights in the front.I'm thanking its a late 70s or early 80s. how can you tell the year of these older tractors?

If it has the original engine, you might be able to go to a site like this:


and determine the year of the engine.

Search Google for Sears Suburban and take a look at the tractors. Also look at searstractor.com

Have you contacted Sears parts department? With the model number they can usually provide a date of manufacture.
