Does anyone have any ideas for using an old rowboat in a garden or landscape? It is a small one, about 8 ft. long. I'd get rid of it, but it has sentimental value.
I have heard of using a boat as a planter. Place the oars nearby. It will be adorable. Jlily
Maybe you could make a garden gal or guy sitting in it rowing.
Here is a link to an inspiration boat planter for you. :)
Here is a link that might be useful: Boat Planter
I have a 17 foot boat in my garden.......
It has been there 8 or 9 years. This year it has caladiums
in it. I just lost all my computer favorites-been without a computer about 2 weeks-so I can't tell you how to get to the garden junk inspiration site that
purplemoon fixed for us, but there is probably someone
here that can.....I think there is a photo on it.
If you have small kids around to play, a boat makes a perfect sand place fpr them. They love to bring their pails and shovels and all sorts of toys, they have a place to sit or line up sand cookies or castles. You could also put a linner in it and make a mini pond.....have fun..
Some great ideas, I love the idea of putting a flowerpot person or scarecrow rowing the boat with a load of flowers in it. Sandbox idea is great, but the grandkids are getting older. We had used it as a pirate ship for them to play in, built some "decks" and a crows nest around it, and made a steering wheel. On to the next phase in its life... now I just need to find the right spot in my yard for it. This folks on this forum are so creative!
Here is what I did with an old wheelbarrow in the front yard (my wife's idea).
