This is everywhere, Im kinda of happy its at least green though :) but what is it and how do i get rid of it. I did a scotts turf weed and feed on Apr 19 and am due for the next step in the scotts process on June 19. Is there anything I can do in the mean time? Thank you guys in advance.

We are now completing the Poa Annua seeding season and starting the KBG seeding season. To my eye, that looks more like a KBG seedhead than a Poa Annua seedhead, but we's need to see the entire plant to know for sure.

Yep. Whether Poa Annua or another bluegrass that is typical this time of year. It is having a banner year due to the longer winter and cool spring. It likes cool and damp and if it is the Poa Annua then heat kills it off. Don't water until you must and wait for the heat. A pre-emergent for crabgrass control in fall and early spring next season will knock it way back but those seeeds last years and nothing kills it that doesn't kill your turf as well.

Also, next year if it starts popping up weeks before your lawn turn you can add vinegar to a pump sprayer and spray it and every 'early' weed before your grass greens up early in the day then the sun/acid will burn it right up before it spreads and goes to seed.

What kind of (intentional) lawn do you have? Once the soil warms to around 70, especially if fairly dry and not shaded, this stuff dies out.

Hi and thank you for the info. Its a tall fescue sod that I laid 2 seasons ago.

Cut it high, don't water unless you must and the Fescue will shade out the weed seeds, it is a major PITA for me this year too because it is the one weed that doesn't mind and still seeds at golf green bermuda height.

I'm thinking a blowtorch in the center of each clump might work but no promises on how attractive that would be ;-)
