Ford Tortoise

tinfoilhatOctober 4, 2012

Tortoise made from Ford truck brake drum.

The cactus in background is another type of night blooming cactus on property. The flowers are can be either yellow or white and last till about noon the next day. They will bloom up to a half dozen times during the summer. I don't know if it is temperature, humidity, rainfall or a combination of these but every plant on property blooms on the same night. They grow in clusters and clone themselves. You can twist off a clone, let the scab dry for a few days and then just stick it in the dirt and it will start growing.

Good thing for the tortoise that he has a nice, heavy shell...since you never know when Magellan might find him! Great looking creation....I like how you made the design on his shell...at least I'm assuming you did that.

The cacti are beautiful! Do the blooms have a fragrance? The almost look like straw flowers.

Great looking tortoise! Beautiful flowers so pure white & I bet they look terrific at night & in moonlight! You would need heavy leather gloves to twist those off I would think as they look like they are stickery! Jan
