What herbicide do I need?

eacollie(6)July 22, 2014

I believe this is goosegrass (lighter green sprouts) and I need a postemergent herbicide for it. Is there any commercial (over-the-counter) that works? The lawn is fescue.

Thanks so much!

If its not goosegrass and is crabgrass try quinclorac (you can buy generics online). If its goosegrass, good luck getting rid of it. I just sprayed round up on 1/2 of my front yard to get rid of goosegrass.
The best method for goosegrass is a good pre-emergent. The problem with goosegrass is it comes up about a month after crabgrass, so you might need to put two pre-emergents down in the season to control each.
