What kind of grass?

njtropical(7a)July 20, 2013

I saw this grass in front of my doctors office and it just seemed different than the other grass types in the area. Does anyone have an idea of what type(species) of grass it is?

Not with that picture. A close up of the blades is necessary to identify grass. Your location would also help.

Thanks for the response. I will get a closer pic the next time i'm at the doctors. Also, the pic was taken in Toms River NJ not far from Seaside. Thanks again

Don't be so sure, I've seen common Bermuda up in CT.

I think the grass in the picture is Bluegrass.

I would guess Bermuda from the picture. Only 100 or so miles up the coast from me, and I have a healthy bermuda yard. (thanks in large part to this forum!)
There is actually a lot of common bermuda used along the Eastern Seaboard for areas such as median strips, common areas, playgrounds, etc. Winters are fairly temperate, summers hot and humid.

If the picture is Bermuda, it is NOT the common type. It could be Zoysia as well.

Take more pictures and post, one from far away and another one from up close.
