I am planning to perform patch repairs on a Kentucky bluegrass lawn in Connecticut planted during the mid 1950s. Though some portions only receive four hours of direct sunlight, the lawn is a beautiful dark green and has done very well with the exception of a number of areas which have been overrun with clover and require seeding. I am guessing the grass is most likely Merion, and seed is no longer available. Does anyone know what type of bluegrass Merion would be classified as i.e. Common, BVMG, etc and what would be the closest cultivar available today?
