DIY grass seed coating

lily603(6)July 30, 2014

Getting ready to repair lawn . Is there an easy way to "coat" grass seed? When I did last yr the varmints got most of it. Coated grass is too rich for my pocketbook. Ideas please

Look up Soil Moist Seed Coat. Amazon has it. You mix it with the seed to help with water retention just before you plant seed. It would not prevent varmints. You can rake very lightly to help cover the seed or put a top dressing over it.
