Right rear axle grease leak - snapper rear engine rider

Snapper model number 301223BVE - Right rear axle leaking grease onto wheel hub and outside of mower. What is probable cause?

I haven't done much with these, but there is a seal behind the hub. Perchance, had grease been recently added?

thanks for the response Not sure if grease had been added. Just got the mower. I cannot find that seal in parts diagram. Have not had the chance to work on it yet.

It is in the wheel/ hub section of the diagram. You may want to visit Snapper.com and seek the manual. These are serviced somewhat differently than a "normal" rider. Then you will have the correct way to make adjustments, check oil level etc...

Also, check for excessive side to side play in axle bushing. May be too much for seal to hold.

@tomplum - that's a good suggestion. Below you can find every manual for every Snapper model.
