12-0-5 applied, need to overseed

bandy1080August 19, 2014

Got home today to find that my lawn service applied some 12-0-5 fertilizer. I was planning on overseeding with KBG this weekend. Do I have to wait to do this now? If so, how long?

If it was only the fertilizer, you're good to go. No worries there, the nitrogen won't hurt.

If it contained something other than fertilizer, it would depend on what it was and how much was applied.

Ok thanks.

He applied 50lb of fertilizer (I have 35k sq ft of grass) and spot sprayed for crabgrass.

The spot spraying might depress out seed sprouting in those particular areas somewhat (it depends on what he used).

I still wouldn't worry about it.
