Peperomia ID?

terraworldJanuary 20, 2014

Hi, I have a number of this Peperomia from a grower in Holland, but have no idea what it is.

I presume it is a hybrid as it is from a grower (Smit Kwekerijen) known for its hybrids, and like many of the dutch nurseries, they typically worng species names to their plants to stop anyone reproducing the plant - fair enough I guess, but a pain for someone who wants to know the plants in their collection.

The grower has not responded to my queries and the plant is not even pictured on their website.

Although I'm a seller, it's a stunning plants and am keeping some for myself.

Any ideas?

Commonly known in the USA as Peperomia caperata (often P. Emerald caperata) as I recall there's a green one & there's also a bronze colored one.

This is one of the first plants I ever grew once I went off to college. It can be sensitive to overwatering. I don't believe it wants direct sun, will burn if given it.

Are you sure it's supposed to be that color?
