Tall Fescue & Kentucky Bluegrass Mix??

bwsnc(8)August 17, 2010

Currently, I have a tall fescue lawn but have been thinking about overseeding with a tall fescue and KGB mix this fall. Anyone in NC have success with this? I have some bare spots in my fescue (just from the punishing summer) and thought it would be nice to have a grass like KBG that can regenerate and fill in those bare spots. My front lawn gets full sun.

TTTF/KBG is a very popular mix for lawns in Central and Western NC, is what most lawns are around. That's what Sod Farmers sell around here to Lowe's, Home Depot, etc...

If you have a decent stand of TTTF, then you can overseed with Bluegrass at 2 rate per 1,000 sf.

Do not buy Kenblue Bluegrass, always Elite if budget allows it.

Where are you located?

I'm in Raleigh, maybe I can help you...
