Identification of Climbing Succulent

glenmiesJanuary 27, 2014

Hello,
I'm new to this forum and definitely a rookie gardener, so please bear with me.
I've grown this plant for 5 years, from a cutting a friend gave me. She didn't know what it was, though. All I can say is, it appears to be a climbing succulent with moderately thick, glossy leaves that produce seeds at their tips. It now stands about 4 feet tall.
If anyone recognizes my buddy or has any idea what particular family it might belong to, I'd be much obliged to know!

Glad you popped by this one, Rosemarie. I thought so too, from what you & Yale showed/told me.

Should it be able to hold itself upright? More light? Why are the leaves curling back like that? Maybe I've just not left a piece alone long enough to do this?

It isn't actually a climber. As Purple said, it should stand upright. Yours is just a bit gangly and as you can see it roots along the stems so if it flops over it will root in the ground.
