You can lop that much off and not scalp it? Wow. I'm impressed. I have seen a lot of zoysia up close but the one I've seen the most is that empire not to be confused with emerald which is beautiful. Empire looks like like S.A. and don't know why someone would plant that instead of S.A,

Personally if I had my choice of which zoysia to get, I'd get Palisades in a heartbeat. it looks like dwarf st augustine but with better drought tolerance and a lot less mowing....

Empire would be my 2nd choice but 50 dollars cheaper than Palisades a pallet.

Ok now that you've flown into my trap, why not just use SA, it's more vigorous and cost a lot less.

Umm. Doesn't it look like they are cutting it a bit too short there? The stuff that's uncut looks nice but it looks like they are taking off more than a 1/3 there..You can see some yellow spots after the mowing? Is that how you are supposed to treat Zoysia?
