Medicinal plants?

Sluginator(10b)February 19, 2014

A friend of mine was given this container and not told what kind of plants they are. He was just told that they are medicinal.

It looks like two different species to me.

Can anyone ID the plants?

Guessing Kalanchoe pinnata, AKA Bryophyllum pinnatum.

Can't comment on medicinal qualities.

As to medicinal qualities, I found a scientific paper that says, "Our findings show that K. pinnata flowers are a rich source of T-suppressive flavonoids that may be therapeutically useful against inflammatory diseases."

The Wikipedia entry listed several uses in traditional medicine.

You couldn't pay me to eat it, though.
