Skating With Skyler

gardenbug(Canada zone 5)January 4, 2008

DD has taught skating for years and finally the real test took place this year with her eight year old stepson Skyler. He had a ball and begged for daily outings. :) He learned to fall on his bum, no crying. A real champ! He also lifts his feet already and can weave his feet out and in. We all cheered him on.

Home for hot chocolate!

Saucy and V, she'd love to teach you. She's taught adult women before, women who thought "never..." and ended up loving it and playing hockey to boot! I must have done something right. I was taught to scorn sports of any kind, but decided that since winter lasts forever, my kids had better love it somehow.

Great pictures! Great job Skyler! And that Reed is as cute as they get!
I could never stand up on ice skates, but was fairly good on roller skates.
We siblings did a lot of sleding, and even talked our mother into joining us a few times. :-) Our 'hills' were the railroad tracks and the ramps at the grain elevators.
I'd say that is a pretty proud grandfather....:-), but I am sure he can not compete with grandmother.
