Four mysterious plants

SeattlePlantGirlMarch 24, 2013

I picked up these four curious objects. Does anyone know what plants they might belong to? Thanks for any help...

#3 - something that bloomed the end of last season. Perhaps goldenrod?

Could #3 be Spiraea?

I was thinking #3 was Spiraea too. I think #4 is a birch starting to bloom.

No definitely willow - a female one. The perennial might be Artemisia suksdorfii.

'picked up'??? or broke off.. lol ...

next time.. perhaps a pic of the whole bush .. dormant or not ...... will give the peeps a better flavor of the plant ... size and shape.. etc ....

yeah.. i used to collected seed pods.. that i picked up off the ground.. that guy before me must have just been walking around snapping them off for me.. lol

and i am just joking around.... please dont take offense ... lol .. the gardener would soon be around to dispose of them all anyway ....

the th3d one looks kind of like a small piece of bird millet but small the middle one is a rose seedpod it should have 3 or 4 seeds in the pod the hairs from the pod are itchy so watch out.

I think Fatamorgana is nearest on no.3. Looks like Asteraceae to me too. Very reminiscent of Achillea millefolium but the arrangement on the stem is not quite right.
