Unknown, beautiful bush of some sort!

Joeliza(9)March 12, 2014

Hello,

What is this plant? It fell back over the winter but didn't die and as soon as it started warming up, it exploded! I water it a lot and it's on the North side of the house. It doesn't get much sun except for mornings and afternoons but it still very bright.

Also, want to do something with the flower bed. There are 4 rose bushes along the end but I want to maybe add some ground cover there.. Something hardy that will tolerate hot weather but not necessarily full sun.

Either way, would love to know more about this fantastic bush!

cant focus on a single leaf ...

but it reminds me of forsythia ... but that might be subject to where you are ...

it is planted way to close to the house for its size ... and you have planting problems.. if it fell over ...

No way we can suggest something without knowing where you live/or zone you're in. The shrub could be Punica granatum "State Fair" or similar Cv.

Thanks for the responses.

I updated my zone, sorry. I'm in zone 9.

Also, we are renting right now and it was here when we moved in. It never died and we never moved it.

Any tips on what I could do to help it if it needs it? I wasn't sure what it was so I didn't know how to care for it.

Probably needs to be moved to a sunnier location if you want flowers and fruit.

Unfortunately I can't move it. What is it? Still unsure.

Punica granatum I believe. Hard to be sure without flowers.
