ID assistance

geomont(11)April 29, 2014

Hi all,

Just wondering whether any one might be able to assist in identifying this tree/plant.

It's come up in the same spot a number of times after cutting it down. It's incredibly quick growing with hairy/furry leaves/stems, and small purple flowers.

It's probably a weed of sorts, but interested to find out. Any assistance appreciated.

Thank you

Maybe "wild tobacco" - a Solanum. NOT for consumption and yes, generally a weed, if that's what it is.

Hi Alison,

Thank you very much (again - second time you've kindly assisted me with an ID).

Certainly seems to be 'wild tobacco' it after googling it. Looks like it's time to get rid of it (for good this time hopefully).
