Minhas, in many hot areas of the world this plant (Eichhornia crassipes) is a massive invasive nuisance in waterways. It is not generally grown as a house plant as far as I know. I think you need to do some research on whether this is a problem plant in your area before trying to grow it.

I can't actually see what problems you are referring to with the plant. What is the evidence for it's 'not doing so well'?

i suspected such ... but didnt want to make a fool of myself.. again.. lol ...

whats bothering it.. is that it has no roots considering the plant size ... the root mass should be near as big as the plant above ... see link

perhaps there is an aquatics forum... or a pond forum .. this is a very common plant to float in a small man made liner pond ... in MI anyway ...

Well floral_uk it doesn't have leaves ne more they all shrivelled up n I'm not sure of the nuisance part. ya @ken_adrian may be that's the problem. I put them in the bathroom its much humid there so they look better now but leaves still dried, dead n shrivelled.

Water hyacinth requires ample sunlight. Very difficult to keep alive indoors.

Regarding the 'nuisance' reference have a look at Wiki. What I don't know is if it is invasive in Saudi Arabia. I think you should try to find out before cultivating this plant.
