What amazing tree is this?

These trees are prominent all around Brisbane, Australia at the moment. The red are the seed pods after yellow flowers. A bit straggly at times but sometimes magnificent. What country do we have to thank for these? I'm sure they're not native to Australia.

Classified as an environmental weed in south-eastern Queensland.

Native to east asia - parts of china and korea. Massively messy from copious seed fall to leaf litter fall (semi deciduous). And invasive. However, there are many areas where they have been used exclusively as footpath plantings by developers on construction of residential canal estates in Gold Coast.

Wrong leaves for K. paniculata - it will be one of the other species.
