baby pines or coreopsis? or something else?

dinajean(upstate SC -Zone 7b)April 25, 2013

These babys are numerous in several parts of my flower beds, VERY easy to pull, so not being much of a problem, but I was just wondering what they are. I see them every year. Upstate SC. Thanks for any help

They look like spruce seedlings to me.

Yes, most likely pine unless something else is in the vicinity.

I'm going to say pine, as well....especially considering your location. Certainly not coreopsis.

I expect that you have pines very nearby.

I do have several pines, dont need more, but also have several threadleaf coreopsis....if it were coreopsis, i would plant the babies elsewhere. Thanks for your input!
