Remember me?

that_other_sharon(z6--Heart of KS)March 3, 2011

It's been a LONG time since I've visited the Garden Web, but I've rediscovered it and thought I'd pop in and say hello. I haven't moved, but our location has been updated to zone 6, so I have a little more freedom in choosing plants.

Anyhoo, just wanted to say hello and see if any of the 'old guard' is still haunting the Garden Party.

Hi, Sharon---I remember you, also!
Hope you are well and happy enough and have a story to share!

The Thread title reminded me of a song from when I was 12 or 13...

---'You don't remember me, but I remember you.
'Twas not so long ago, you broke my heart in two.

'Tears On My Pillow' was the name of it, think.

Funny how things bring back memories from a zillion years ago....
It played on the jukebox in my Moms' restuarant for months.
The younger set usually played it---and then when the sailors would be coming though on leave on Fridays, it played constantly,, as it did again on Sundays as they came back through, headed back to Norfolk.
Those sailors were the nicest, most respectful bunch--such nice young men.
(late 1950's---early 1960's)

The regulars all played country music....
it always had broken hearts listening to every word in a tune they could relate to.....and a cold Schlitz or Budweiser helped it go down.
