ID plant please

BellaKingApril 24, 2013

I just moved into a rental house and am in charge of the yard work. There is a raised bed that has become very overgrown. I'm try to get it ready to plant some herbs, but am unsure of a few plants in it. I was wondering whether you could help me id them so I know whether they are worth saving or not. This first one, these green and red stalks are growing out of what looks like a stump. I can't figure out how to post more than one picture per message so I will post each plant seperately.

I have close ups of the leaves on both plant 2 and 3. Please let me know if you would like me to post them.

1st one, Poke weed. 2nd one looks like Corylus species (Hazelnut). 3rd one could be a maple.

Thanks so much! That was very helpful. I looked into #3 with the maple looking leaves and am questioning whether it could be a cranberry bush. We'll have to see if it gets flowers or berries on it.
Thanks again.

Embothrium(USDA 8 Sunset 5 WA)

Last one not a viburnum. Leaves at this stage of development quite maple-like in outline, however stems and flower buds(?) probably point to thimbleberry. This was my first thought.
