Mystery plant, possibly native

princessgrace79(8 PNW)April 20, 2014

I've had this plant growing in my back yard for years, I used to think it was a weed and mowed it down...if it's a weed it's a nice looking one! It has pale cream flowers (looks like it's about to flower soon). I dug it out of a spot and will be donating it for a school plant sale so hope to know the name :)

Thank you!

I'm pretty sure it's in the saxifrage family...and I have a hard enough time with a few of them when they're in my hand! So here's a site to help you key it out...now you just need a magnifying glass! Oh, and a computer on hand to look up the botanical terms!

It looks like a Heuchera, commonly known as Coral Bells. It is a desirable perennial that comes in many varieties and colors. It's a shame its been mowed over all this time!

I'd guess Tellima grandiflora, fringecup
