you might want to ask in the houseplant forum.. if your very high peat media is proper for this plant ...
the link above suggest they do not like a lot of retained water.. and that is all peat does ...
You can keep it inside, but it's not going to be real happy over the long haul.
It will become a magnet for spider mites and it wants a lot more light than it normally gets indoors. Typical of Phoenix species.
If you can set it outdoors in summer, it will thank you. But not in full sun right away, it will burn. Protect from frost. Treat for pests when you bring in for the winter.
that extra info is great!! As much as I love the look for that room, if it isn't going to be really happy inside then I'll bring it out.... I live in Ca and this is a beautiful time of year.
I'll have to find something else for that room.
