Name of plants

Giraffe22May 8, 2013

I planted something last year (pink cat, nepeta I thought). But it looks like there are two plants here and I'm not sure if one is a weed. I don't want one to choke the other but I don't want to kill a flowering plant either

One appears to be a Geranium. The other may well be a weed. It's upside down and tough to view.

Looks like American Burnweed, Erechtites.

Here is a link that might be useful: Erechtites

The Geranium is about to produce a flower. It could be G sanguineum. You can tell the specific variety once you see the flower colour.

Agree with G. sanguineum based on the narrow leaf segments.
