Mystery plant

This is growing at a rate of knots in my new garden, but no idea what it is. Anyone? The stems are kind of hairy.

Helianthus tuberosus aka Jerusalem Artichokes, I believe. Dig down below a stem and see if there is a large knobbly tuber.
