"The past is an old armchair in the attic, the present an ominous ticking sound, and the future is anybody's guess. "
I like that one, don't pay too much attention to the ominous ticking sound, I consider it background noise.
Thank you, Michael, for a weeks good quotes, some made me think,, some made me smile and some made me do both at the same time!
Michael, thank you for an interesting week---I really enjoyed the Abbey quotes!
Hope your weekend is a good one.
James Thurber had such a strange little outlook on life and his stories always make me laugh. This quote makes a lot of sense to me. The past for me is definitely a comfortable armchair and I've pretty much forgotten about the unpleasant things that have happened and think back over the good. I do at times see the present as a ticking clock,meaning..I need to do this,I need to do that, will I get it done in time etc. etc. etc. Kind of like Alice's rabbit. I agree..good quotes all week long.
Loved all your quotes and grinned a lot. I also tend not to hear the ticking, not much I can do about that and since I am an optimist by trade, I don't worry too much about the future either. The past is definitely that armchair, except that mine is not in the attic, I sit in it quit comfortabely.
Thanks for the quotes this week, endorphinjunkie. They were thought provoking.
Thanks for stretching my brain, this week!
Thanks Michael, good stuff.
Great quote week, Michael and yes i agree it was a brain stretcher!
