Not a walnut?

stage_rat(5--Indiana Riviera)May 22, 2014

I have two tree seedlings and I've realized that they look different from one another, and also don't look as much like Black Walnut as I thought. I don't have any nearby trees they look like. They are in NW Indiana.

Thanks for any help you can offer! I'll post a photo of the other seedling in a comment, or a separate post.

Both have compound leaves. Notice that the first one has the leaves arranged opposite one another on the stem (Ash) while the second has alternate leaves (or it will once it grows a bit more, looks like it is just getting started for the year).

The Juglans looks like an Asian walnut or butternut (the North American analog).
