pond bacteria seeding question

thinking through my new pond build. I have a fish tank with a exteernal canisterr that holds a filter that collects a ton of debris ie bacteria. would it be benificail when i have my gravity filter ready to hook to outdoor pond should I seed that filter with my dirty canister media with hopes of jump starting the bacteria grouuth?

You get more and possibly better answers on the discussions side of this forum.
Yes, you could use the filter material in the canister but the bacteria will develop in a couple of weeks without it. You could also add some of the water from the aquarium to start the bacteria growth without the mulm you describe on the filter material.
