Low growing, powdery green perennial. ID?

TheoryOfGravityMay 16, 2012

Description:

Age: about 2yrs old

Color: powdery green

Height: low growing

Width: about 8-10 inches

Foliage: bunchy

Light: it's in shade most of the day

Drought tolerant

It cropped up as a baby in my backyard of badly patchy grass. I never had the heart to pull it as a weed and would go around it with the mower. Two years later, it's the only thing left in my dirt yard now that I'm preparing the soil for a new garden.

What is it? If I'm going to keep this sucker, I'd like to know its name. ;)
