Ponds are relaxing...pets? Jury's still out....
While I spent a day and a half this weekend digging, dragging, picking rock, and leveling dirt, and FINALLY planting 35#'s of grass seed over where the barn used to be, Emma was stomping hosta, tipping over pots, pushing ALL the big rocks from the edge INTO the pond and generally harassing the fish and frogs, while never actually getting into the pond (which is a no-no). Apparently I wasn't giving her enough (read any) attention. But I did get to climb into the pond and ressurrect it when I was all hot and sweaty. One thumb up.
Meanwhile Murphy bounded up to me tonight, paws, chest and tongue full of dirt..happy grin on his face...saying "Look Mom, I can DIG!!!!" No kidding. Big hole in the flower bed under the bird feeder - boy are those seeds yummy! (By the time I got the camera out he'd gotten the dirt off his tongue, not nearly as cute a photo).
I didn't really like those Columbine much anyway...sigh...
Pets are relaxing, pets are relaxing, pets are relaxing...thank you CD3, you do make me smile and realize that that my life is good, my problems small, and at the end of the day I can sit by my (somewhat tattered) pond. And all worries are less.
And I never forget that I love my dogs!
I know that a pet can lower one's blood pressure...that's ONE pet. Two can make life interesting. Three is trying at times, but a joy. Four is bordering on chaos...and more than that the guys in the white coats are hovering outside your door :)
Lily and Kate have been good dogs today...so far.
Good thing I take my meds everyday for my blood pressure...
She who loves her dogs :) and wouldn't have it any other way!
