Extra grass seed?

tdhawksSeptember 29, 2013

I have about 5lbs of extra grass seed left over from overseeding about 2.5 weeks ago. I went through by hand and filled in some areas where the grass didn't grow all too well.

Any suggestions what I should do with the remaining seed?

Should I go over the lawn again with the rotary spreader and dispose of the rest of it and only keep perhaps a lb incase some areas don't grow well, or just keep the rest in the garage for spring if some areas don't fill in?

Keep it in a cool, dry area (non-freezing) and protected from rodents. Kept well, it will last a couple of years. You'll need it for touch-ups in the Spring, though.
